RPSC JLO recruitment exam to be held at three centres instead of one

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on Thursday informed the Rajasthan High Court that it is considering holding the junior law officers’ (JLO) examination in three centres instead of one centre as previously planned.

The commission’s reply followed a petition by Anand Sharma and others who challenged the decision of the RPSC in high court to conduct the examination in a single centre at Ajmer on December 26-27 to select 156 junior law officers. The RPSC said they are considering now Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur as centres.

Giriraj Prasad Sharma, counsel for the petitioner, said the decision of the RPSC to hold the examination in a single centre is against an earlier high court order.

He said, the court had given direction that if the candidates appearing for the examination are over 10,000, then there should be more than one centre for examination. In this case, about 30,000 candidates from all over the state are participating in the examination.

The court said they could reschedule the examination as per its convenience if it requires time for the arrangements at multiple centres.
